About the Event

Join us for a wonderful tour of an amazing property with an amazing farmer!

Joey Esterline, Sparta Farmers Market founder and vendor, will guide us to see some of the many conservation projects she and her partner Scott Giraud have implemented over a lifetime of land stewardship at AlterNative Grounds. From vegetable fields to restored prairies, and stream bank enhancement to woods management, Joey has truly done it all. Joey is currently transforming her traditional landscaping into a native plant haven. Come see transformation in progress and so many other projects.

Staff from Monroe County Land Conservation, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources - Forestry, Kickapoo Valley Dark Sky Initiative, and more will be there to share about programs and opportunities to support your goals.

This event is co-sponsored by Michael Fields Agricultural Institute and Renewing the Countryside, with generous support from the Women's Fund of Greater LaCrosse.
