About the Event
This gathering will be an opportunity for women landowners to connect around their shared interest in conservation practices and to learn from one another. Join us as at our second of three events rooted on prairies in Southern Wisconsin.
Our farm host, Lenor Coe, owner and operator of Prairie Guardians, has been converting 11 acres to a pre-colonial state. The property has three small wooded areas, a pond, an oak savanna (in the beginning stages), a short grass prairie area and a tall grass prairie area that will both be seeded this fall. The emphasis has been on creating habitat for native insects, birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles. To date Lenor has seen or heard over 65 different bird species on our small acreage. They also include components for a food forest whenever compatible to their land. Lenor is the guardian of this land and the beneficiary of the gifts it offers.
