It's such a joy to celebrate Native American Heritage Month with you on our ever-popular First Nations live webinar series. We started the series last Thursday, November 6, with 150 people on the Zoom with Dr. Annie Jones, professor of Organization Development and Tribal Nations Specialist at University of Wisconsin, Department of Extension, and Jennifer Gauthier, director of the Sustainable Development Institute at College of Menominee Nation. We are grateful for their generosity.
Attendees were present from all across Wisconsin, but also from Ames, Iowa, New London, Minnesota, NE Illinois, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Washington, DC. Many thanks to Michael Fields Agricultural Institute for funding this program and to Renewing the Countryside for helping with promotions.
The series continues THIS THURSDAY with Dr. Annie and Jennifer introducing PhD student Miranda C. Washinawatok. Sign up now to get the link and learn about the incredible history of Menominee agriculture. Then come back on Nov 20 to learn about the world-famous Menominee Forest. You don't have to have attended the first one to enjoy the next ones. Scroll down to see many of the resources that were shared on the webinar last week, and you'll also find last year's webinars on Ho-Chunk Nation agriculture and seedkeeping.
