Governor Tony Evers has proclaimed July 7-13, 2025, as Wisconsin Women in Conservation Week! Of course, we're delighted to have this state's ROCK STAR women land and water stewards recognized for the important work they do - but we're also just glad to have an excuse for a party!
We're having Happy Hour Celebrations in two locations this year, with two incredible women leaders for hosts. We'll gather to network, share, and reflect on where the conservation movement is at, and where it's going. We'll share great food and great company.
Men and women alike are invited! If you're a woman land steward - or someone who supports, advises or works with women on the land - we hope you'll come and connect. This is a moment in which seeing each other's faces and hearing each other's stories is so incredibly important.

We've so appreciated the energy and beauty of Alice's Garden and the wisdom of CEO Venice Williams at previous Happy Hours. And it's great to get together with the greater Milwaukee agriculture community.
If you've never been to Alice's Garden, you really must come! This 2-acre urban farm and community connecting place is in its 53 year! Many speciality cultural foods are grown in the colorful plots - and there's a lovely herbal labyrinth you can walk. We can't wait to see you there! Find information, directions, and RSVP here. We're looking forward to food from Baked Dreams Cafe and Dessert Shop! Many thanks to Michael Fields Agricultural Institute for sponsoring the food.

Brix Cider is owned and run by Dane County Conservationist, Marie Raboin, and her husband Matt. Not only do they get conservation, they source most of the menu from local farmers - many of whom have led WiWiC field days or webinars.
Our very first Women in Conservation Week Happy Hour was at Brix, in 2021. You won't want to miss the opening Charcuterie Board - which is always cleverly themed and arranged by Matt. Join us in the Troll Capitol of the world - Mount Horeb. If you don't know what that means, you'll just have to come and see!
Here's a look back at some of the fun we've had in past years:
